Getting blood from a dead body would be unrealistic... the heart is not pumping, so you would need to be able to hang the body in order to drain the blood and I can't really see that happening. Interplayer transfusions suffers the same problem... you'd have to fill a bag first and then drain the...
My opinion on this has expanded somewhat while playing 2017 and experienced how difficult, at times, it can be for a lone wolf to get his blood back up. I was just thinking about this today when I heard a vehicle coming toward me as I was gutting a sheep... realizing, if they saw me and wanted...
I just played on a server where the admins are insisting that the M14 is a legit weapon in 2017 - the ApocolypseSimulations.enjin.com server. The [S3] clan guys run it and claim that the M14 is in 2017 - went so far as to call me an idiot for claiming otherwise. Interestingly enough, it is also...
It's pretty harsh, man. You will have very few people starting up on your server at night without some light source. I was a glutton for punishment and fumbled around unable to see loot piles even with the gamma and brightness all the way up. You might want to give people flares or chemlights...
I actually just found an old article on how to make a crossbow pistol with some blueprints and everything. Since it's handmade and, actually more powerful than the crossbow in game (the article says it's dead accurate up to 45m and you need a special tool to cock it back), it should be...
I agree. And, I also really hope that all the rifles and shotguns are very rare. Pistols and the crossbow should be common, but it should be harder to find a weapon that can kill at a distance. And, I don't think silenced weapons should be added. I love that the crossbow is the only silenced gun...
Thanks, I hadn't seen the video. I like that weight will be a factor in fatigue. I also like that the animation is different from the bloodloss pass-out. I think it can still go farther, though, as I've described. People know when they're getting tired and often choose to ignore it. It would...
I've separated zoom and optics... or more accurately, zoom and hold breath. Now my optics and hold breath are on the right mouse and I use a separate key to zoom because I zoom a lot when I'm moving around... and don't need to switch optics or hold my breath while doing that.
Some servers are kind enough to mention that it's been changed. Others have been pointing out that they're solid 2017... I've seen one that says "Unmodified!", another says "original." But, one searchable term would be great.
So, the Lee Enfield will be replaced by the Mosin Nagant. Will it share pretty much the same specs? The nice thing about the Enfield was that, it's power came with a price... it wasn't called the dinner bell for nothing. I really dig the flashlights on the weapons.
In terms of damage, I...
Do they? I know the Hobo truck and the GAZ don't... I've not seen the others at spawn, so I couldn't say. Obviously, if servers spawn vanilla DayZ vehicles, they will spawn with glass.
So, the list is:
Pistols:
Makarov PM
Revolver
Shotguns:
Double Barrel
Remington 870 w/ flashlight
Winchester 1866
Rifle:
Lee Enfield
and the Crossbow.
Thanks for this... I was chatting with a server admin about the CZ and the 870 when I started playing on his new server... people seem...
So as not to distract from the discussion on gdscei's sleep mechanic - where I brought this up originally, I thought I'd create a separate thread for this idea.
Currently, people are able to run and sprint to their hearts content; the only impact it has is on aiming. You do run a little slower...
Actually, someone in a server made the observation that glass doesn't spawn in DayZ 2017. If that's true, then the heat benefit of all the vehicles should be removed.
Well, I don't think people would get fatigued as quickly as you're imagining. And, as I said, just like a car doesn't need to have a full tank to run for a while, nobody would be required to sit for 2 minutes in order to get going. Heck, I'd even say prople could recover, albeit more slowly, by...
A tent is on the ground and, unless you have something more than just a tent, you're sleeping on the ground.
I'm not confusing the two, I'm saying I think a sleep mechanic is unrealistic and doesn't add anything to the game experience for the sleeper apart from, possibly, a nightmare cutscene...
Here's my two cents on this...
I think adding sleep as a need is unrealistic - especially when dependent upon tents. Realistically, one can sleep anywhere, tent or no tent. And sleeping for a few seconds is really unrealistic. If you want to realistically represent fatigue, have a fatigue...
